Maternal–foetal medicine (MFM focuses on diagnosis and therapy of health issues of the mother and foetus during pregnancy. Foetal medicine is a branch of Obstetrics, taking care of high-risk pregnancies having complications.

When should you see a Foetal Medicine?

A mother is supposed to see a maternal-foetal medicine specialist if she develops a medical condition during pregnancy or has problems during delivery or else if your baby has a birth defect, the mother must see a Foetal medicine specialist during her pregnancy.

• Mothers being 35 or older
• Body weight of mother is less or more than necessary
• Mother is carrying one or more babies at once
• Screen test result is abnormal
• Health conditions mother is going through
